Business Disability Forum seeks better stakeholder visibility and engagement

BDF partners with Time Technology to deliver this transformational project, improving the gathering and dissemination of stakeholder information.

Business Disability Forum (BDF) is a prominent business membership organisation dedicated to disability inclusion. Their mission is to enhance the life opportunities of disabled individuals by collaborating with businesses to create a disability-smart world.

For years, BDF had been using a custom database to manage its members and contacts. However, as their requirements evolved, maintaining and enhancing this solution became increasingly challenging. BDF recognized the need for a more robust and efficient system that could address key areas such as availability, integration, data management, and security.

After a thorough evaluation, BDF partnered with Time Technology to implement Salesforce NonProfit Cloud and migrate the data from their custom database.

The project delivered in the following key areas:

  1. Business Development: The first phase of the project focused on supporting BDF’s business development efforts. Salesforce CRM facilitated efficient communication and collaboration, enabling BDF to better engage with its supporters.
  2. Events Management: BDF leveraged Salesforce to manage events seamlessly. From planning to execution, the platform provided a centralized hub for event-related activities.
  3. BDF Advice Service: Managing their Advice Service from inside Salesforce ensures BDF can better serve their member organisations and report on the utilisation of the service.
  4. Third-Party Integration: The project included integration with external tools and services including FormAssembly, Microsoft Outlook, Mailchimp and the Companies House Salesforce App. This connectivity enhanced efficiency and data flow, allowing BDF to segment, target and track their membership and other stakeholder communications.
  5. Data Migration: Time Technology successfully migrated data from BDF’s custom database to Salesforce, preserving historical information while enabling future growth.
  6. Human Resources: A subsequent phase introduced a custom-built Human Resources solution, further allowing BDF to live within a single multi-purpose solution.
  7. Backup: For this project, BDF selected the CloudAlly backup service, to ensure their mission-critical data was protected from loss.

The project sponsor – Ben Kelly – Head of Finance said of the project “We were guided to develop a tool that would deliver for the way we work from day one and for our future needs. We were listened to and encouraged throughout the project and the product delivered exceeded expectations.”
